In the days of the
Venetian Republic, many wealthy families built their summer palace
on the mainland. The Brenta River, which connects Venice to Padua,
was the "location" of the times and many of the best examples of
venetian villas can still be seen today.
A selection of half and full day tours between Padua and Venice is
available - it's a great way to learn about the summer lifestyle on
"terra ferma" with all its festivities! |
